Candy Clay

1 pound any color candy coating (also known as Candy Melts,
almond bark, confectionery coating, summer coating, etc.)
1 cup light corn syrup


Place candy coating in microwave able bowl. Microwave for 40 seconds. Stir. Microwave for 30 seconds. Stir. Continue, 30 seconds at a time, until coating is nearly melted. Take from microwave and stir until completely melted. Add corn syrup and stir. Mixture will become stiff. Mix the clay until smooth, then put on plastic wrap to cool. When cool, wrap in plastic wrap. Let set several hours before using.

USES For hand-molding edible roses, figures, lace and bead decorations for cakes. Also makes a delicious chocolate candy.
YIELD 2 1/3 cups
STORAGE Wrap tightly in plastic wrap, then put into plastic bag, Will keep for several weeks stored at room temperature. Will become hard while stored, so will need to be kneaded (a small amount at a time) before molding.
