Fall Sugar and Spice Cookies
1 cup butter (I use salted)
1 cup granulated sugar
1teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon cloves (optional)
pinch brown sugar
3 cups flour
approx. 1 to 1 1/2 tbsp (pasteurized) apple cider

I roll these to between 1/4 and 3/8 inch thickness
bake at 400*, all ovens are different so take out just as edges become darker than rest of
cookie. For me that's about 12 minutes.
I like to "paint" these with a little extra cider and coat them with sugar
crystal PRIOR to baking. These are also good with a cream cheese buttercream.
