Farmhouse Cookies
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Cream together 2 cups sugar
1 cup butter
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream

Mix in 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 4 teaspoons baking powder, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1/2
teaspoon salt.
Add 4 1/4 cups flour, about 1/2 cup at a time, until blended completely.
Refrigerate until firm. Roll dough out on lightly floured surface to about 1/4"
thickness. Use cookie cutters to make shapes. Transfer shapes to cookie sheet, adding
unused dough back to bowl.
Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
Do not allow cookies to turn brown - not even on the bottom - use toothpick to
check doneness just as you would for cake. Cool cookies completely before
icing/decorating.
These cookies are soft when baked properly, and taste excellent with cream cheese
frosting.
