Sugar Cookie
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon clear vanilla
2 teaspoon baking powder
3 cups flour

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar with mixer. Beat in
egg and vanilla. Add baking powder and flour. One cup at a time, mixing after each
addition. The dough will be very stiff; blend last flour by hand (if dough becomes too
stiff, add water a teaspoon at a time). Do not chill dough.
Note This dough can be tinted knead a small amount desired
color until you reach the color you want.
