Egg Nog Cream Filling

1 1/4 cup Milk
5 Tablespoons Flour
1/2 lb Butter [2 sticks]
3/4 cup Sugar
2 Tablespoons Rum
1/4 cup Egg nog
1/4 teaspoon Ground nutmeg

 

In a small saucepan, combine milk and flour. Cook, stirring constantly ,until mixture thickens. Let cool. Meanwhile ,in a small mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in rum and egg nog and nutmeg. Whisk in the cooled flour mixture, one spoonful at a time, beating the 2 mixtures together until light and fluffy. Spread filling between layers

Makes about 3 cups.
