Vanilla Custard Filling

½ cup sugar
2 egg yolks
1 Tablespoon cornstarch
1 cup scalded milk
½ teaspoon vanilla


 

Mix cornstarch and sugar, add hot milk and pour gradually on the beaten egg yolks. Cook in double boiler, stirring constantly until thicken. Cool and flavor with the vanilla.
