Dawn and Victoria are very proud to announce the next Cake Retreat Weekend. We are extremely excited about this event. This is not just any retreat like you have seen before. We have great hands-on instruction scheduled for all levels of decorators, great meals and a fantastic social event in the works. Plan to attend. We are not planning another event like this until fall 2009! Everyone will learn, regardless of your level. You will not be left behind… no way!!

This year’s retreat will be hosting 3 learning-filled days:

TOPIC 2: 2D daisy's (Patchwork Cutters) plus butterfly (hands-on)

TOPIC 3: Calla Lily spray (hands-on)

TOPIC 1: Silicone Molds (hands-on)
This will cover 3 types of silicone that can be used to create molds for sugar art: pourable, spreadable and moldable.

TOPIC 2: Faux Fondant – Making buttercream look like fondant (hands-on)

Disclaimer: Due to some personal reason some of the Early Bird Demos have been changed.. Don't worry there is bigger and better ones to take there place...

 

All perishable supplies will be furnished and are included in the cost of your reservation fee. You will leave with completed projects. Boxes for your projects will be provided to ensure a safe trip home. You will be required to provide the necessary tools. A complete list of the tools needed and their pictures will be posted very soon.

Just like last year, snacks (not lunch) will be provided at noon on Friday before the event begins. All food will be put away before any instruction starts. If you want to eat, you must be on time for each meal. Friday night an optional social gathering and affordable dinner in a local restaurant will be arranged which you would be responsible for. More details on this event will be given 2-3 weeks before the retreat.

On Saturday, as part of your paid fees, you will enjoy a continental breakfast, lunch and snacks throughout the day. Saturday night includes a nice dinner (hosted by and paid for by the Retreat Committee), a dip in the spa (bring your suit!!) and light entertainment. We will finish the weekend with a continental breakfast and a snack at the close of the event on Sunday. You will be responsible for your dinner on Friday night, accommodations and travel.

Availability is limited to the first 20 paid reservations. Refunds only given when a death in your family occurs or the Retreat Committee cancels the event. No other exceptions.

Please note: we are not charging to make a profit. We are only charging just enough to cover actual costs. Nothing has been padded. After we get a head count, I will contact a local hotel for a possible discount in hotel rooms. I will be creating a thread for possible roommates to hook up.

Reservation guidelines:

Early Bird Special: $200: Reservations received and paid for on or before June 15, 2007. (Check or money order only)

Standard Reservations: $225: Reservations received and paid for on or after June 16 and on or before August 5, 2007 (Money order only)

Head-in-the-Sand Reservations or At-The-Door: $250: Cash or money order only. Reservations received and paid for on or after August 6, 2007.

Hold the Date Reservation Deposit: You may choose to pay a $50 non-refundable holding fee to ensure your spot at the DOS. Paying a $50 deposit does not lock in the early bird fee. All balances will still be due by the dates provided. This option only ensures you have a spot at the retreat if you do not have the entire fee at this time. Unfortunately, since we will be holding a spot for you and not making it available to others, this has to be a non-refundable deposit.
