Gum paste leaves
What you need:
gum paste
leaf green paste color
various leaf veiner
various leaf cutters
rolling pin
ball tool
needle tool
egg white or edible glue
24-26 g green wire
Different shades of green dust colors
Green pearl dust
Roll green dough, leaving a thicker area at the bottom
Press veiner to imprint design and cut with desired cutter
Brush egg white on the egde of wire and insert in the base of the leaf
Place on foam and thin the edges with ball tool, be careful not to change the
shape of the leaf
When dried, dust green in the middle of the leaf, using various shades. Edge
with red or brown for a more natural look
Finish with a coat of green pearl dust
Now you’re ready to steam. Hold leaves on a pot with steaming water for a few
seconds. This will fix the colors
On the right… before coloring and steaming…. On the left… natural looking
leaves… dusted with color, green pearl dust and steamed….
Let dry.
